Scan a file

Scan in the web app

Upload, drag and drop, or paste a public image or video link. JPG, PNG, WebP and MP4 are supported. While a scan runs you will see each step as it completes. Larger files take longer, so keep the tab open.

  • Free accounts get 20 image scans a month.
  • Pro adds 1,000 images, 100 videos, heatmaps, face-swap check and generator attribution.
  • If a scan fails it is not counted. Try again, or use a different file.

Reading a result

AI-generated likelihood
How likely the file was made by a generator, from 0 to 100%. It is a likelihood, not a certainty.
Face-swap likelihood
How likely a face was replaced or manipulated. Available on free accounts and above.
Generator
The generator family, named only when confidence is high.
Metadata (EXIF)
Camera and capture details, if the file has any. Missing metadata is a signal, not proof.
C2PA and SynthID
Content Credentials and watermark checks. Not found means the file carries none.
Scan ID
A reference for the scan so you can look it up again.
Note: Heavy edits, screenshots and very small files lower confidence. Witness says so in the result.

Files are analysed and discarded. They are never stored, shared or used for training. We keep the result and its audit ID so you can come back to it. Read more in Privacy and Security.
