What Witness is

Witness is a free, non-commercial deepfake detection tool. It analyzes images and videos using research-backed detection models and returns a verdict (real or synthetic) with a confidence score. It is provided by Glora AI LLC.

What Witness is not

Witness is an investigative tool, not definitive proof. A verdict from Witness should not be treated as forensic evidence, legal certification, or a guarantee of authenticity. Detection models have known error rates. Confidence scores reflect statistical likelihood, not certainty.

Do not make consequential decisions based solely on a Witness verdict. For legal, journalistic, or safety-critical use cases, pair Witness results with qualified human judgment and additional verification methods.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Witness only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use Witness to harass, defame, or harm individuals based on detection results
• Attempt to overwhelm the service with automated or bulk requests beyond normal use
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract the detection models or their outputs at scale
• Misrepresent Witness verdicts as certified forensic analysis
• Upload illegal content — Witness processes images algorithmically and does not review content, but illegal uploads violate these terms

Rate limits

Witness enforces rate limits to keep the service available for everyone. If you exceed the limit, requests will be temporarily rejected. Repeatedly attempting to circumvent rate limits may result in your device identifier being blocked.

Accuracy and limitations

Detection models are imperfect. Witness may produce:

• False positives — flagging a real image as synthetic
• False negatives — failing to detect a synthetic image
• Reduced accuracy on heavily compressed, cropped, screenshotted, or low-resolution images

Witness shows confidence scores so you can judge how much weight to give each result. When confidence is low, treat the result with proportional skepticism.

No warranty

Witness is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Glora AI LLC does not guarantee uptime, accuracy, or availability. The service may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Glora AI LLC is not liable for any damages arising from your use of Witness, including but not limited to damages from incorrect verdicts, service interruptions, or reliance on detection results for decisions.

Intellectual property

You retain full ownership of any images or videos you upload. Witness does not claim any rights over your content. Detection results (verdicts, scores, explanations) may be shared, quoted, or screenshotted freely.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The current version will always be available at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of Witness after changes constitutes acceptance.
