Terms of service.

The service

Witness analyzes images and videos to estimate whether they are AI-generated or manipulated. Results are probabilistic estimates, not definitive determinations. It is provided by A Labs Inc.

Results are not guarantees

Detection technology has inherent limitations. Witness verdicts:

  • May produce false positives (real content flagged as synthetic) and false negatives (synthetic content missed)
  • Should not be the sole basis for legal, financial, employment, or safety decisions
  • Are not admissible expert testimony or forensic certification

You are responsible for how you interpret and act on results.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload content you lack rights to analyze
  • Upload illegal content, including CSAM (reported to authorities)
  • Use Witness to harass, stalk, or defame individuals
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer detection models or probe them to build evasion tools
  • Resell or redistribute the service without agreement

Rate limits

Witness enforces rate limits to keep the service available for everyone. If you exceed the limit, requests will be temporarily rejected. Repeatedly attempting to circumvent rate limits may result in your device identifier being blocked.

Subscriptions

When applicable, Pro subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period. Refunds per platform policy (App Store / Stripe).

Intellectual property

You retain rights to media you upload. You grant A Labs Inc. a limited license to process it (and retain it, subject to the Privacy Policy) for providing and improving the service. The Witness software, models, and branding remain the property of A Labs Inc.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Important

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, A Labs Inc.'s total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the prior 12 months.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The current version will always be available at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of Witness after changes constitutes acceptance.
